How to Bake the Perfect Steak

Cajun Crusted Bolton Gold Bone in Filet

Ingredients:

  1. Bolton Gold Bone in Filet
  2. Olive Oil
  3. Crushed Hazelnuts
  4. Butter
  5. Chopped Fresh Parsley
  6. Cajun Spice mix:
    • 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper,
    • 1 tablespoon onion powder
    • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
    • 2 tablespoons sweet paprika
    • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
    • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
    • 5 tablespoons kosher salt
    • 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper

For this recipe and to bake the perfect steak you will require a cast iron skillet for that perfect crispy crust.

Directions:

As always allow your Bolton Gold Bone In Filet come to room temperature.Move your oven’s element 6-7 inches away from your broiler element and reheat your skillet by placing it under your oven broiler for 20 minutes

Pat your Bolton gold Bone In Filet dry with paper towel.

Rub your steak with olive oil, preferred amount of cajun spice mixture ( 1 tsp) and crushed garlic cover edges and sides with crushed hazelnuts.

Using oven mitts carefully remove skillet from oven and place on the stove top on high heat.

Place your steaks in the middle of the skillet to sear for 30 seconds, flip to sear other side.

Using oven mitts, place back into the oven for 2-3 minutes.

Take out and flip steaks using tongs and place back in the oven, 2-5 minutes depending on desired rarity.

Transfer steak to a clean cutting board, cover loosely in an Aluminium Foil tent for 5 minutes. Finish your perfectly baked steak with fresh herbed butter.
