Maple Miso Marinated Grilled Black Cod

Rich and buttery, Bolton Foods Wild caught Black Cod is the perfect fish for this Japanese style marinade. Packed with heart healthy omega 3’s, flakey and delicate with a melt-in-your-mouth experience and texture! Best marinated for 2-3 days it can be an incredible way to have a midweek luxury, grilled to perfection.

Ingredients:

  1. 6 Bolton Foods, Wild Caught Black Cod Fillets
  2. 4 Tablespoons Sake
  3. 1⁄2 Cup White Miso
  4. 1⁄3 Cup Maple Syrup
  5. 4 Tablespoon Mirin
  6. 4 Tablespoons Sliced Spring Onion
  7. 3 Tablespoon Crushed Roasted Almonds

Directions:

Using a medium saucepan, boil sake and mirin over medium-high heat, reducing liquid by 1⁄3. Turning heat down to low, add white miso and maple syrup, stirring constantly to prevent overcooking. Cool this mixture to room temperature in a shallow baking dish before adding, wild caught black cod fillets, cover with plastic wrap and place into the fridge for upto 3 days. Cooking begins by bringing your grill or grill pan to medium high heat. Shake off excess marinade from the fillets and place onto a hot grill, turning once after 3-4 minutes – fillets should be slightly firmer to the touch and opaque in color. Remove from grill and top with fresh sliced spring onions and crushed roasted almonds and serve on the side of cold soba noodle salad and crispy fried wontons for next level mouth watering luxury.
